Capture the job once
Record what you see during the walkthrough instead of rewriting notes later.
Estimate consistently
Break work down room-by-room with preparation, coatings, labour and materials.
Protect your margin
See estimated costs and profit before giving the customer a price.
Send a professional quote
Turn the internal estimate into a clean customer-facing proposal.
Two hours of driving for a free estimate
Schedule it. Drive across town. Measure. Drive back. Write it up at the kitchen table that evening. Then find out they went with someone cheaper — or never replied at all. Every quote you lose cost you half a day before you knew whether it was worth having.
Half a day gone before you know if the job is real
Quotes written from memory, days after the visit
No idea what the margin is until the job is finished
How it works
- 1
Send a link
Text or email your customer. No app for them to install, no account to make.
- 2
They record the job
Five guided minutes on their phone — every room, wall, ceiling and trim.
- 3
Review the estimate
Measurements, scope and a price built from your rates. Change anything.
- 4
Approve and send
Your customer gets a professional quote the same day. You never left the yard.
From a customer’s phone, to something you can price
This is what a customer actually tells you — vague in places, on purpose — and what PaintQuoteKing does with it.
What you said
Living room is about 5 by 4 metres. Walls are in decent condition but there are around eight nail holes and one small crack near the window. Two coats on walls, Dulux Natural White. Ceiling one coat. Skirting and door frames need two coats semi-gloss. Hallway is around 7 metres long, same wall colour, ceiling doesn't need painting. Customer also wants the front bedroom walls painted, no trim.
What you get
- Living Room
- Walls ≈43.2 m², two coats, Natural White · fill eight nail holes, repair crack · ceiling 20 m², one coat · skirting and door frames, two coats semi-gloss
- Hallway
- Walls ≈33.6 m², two coats · ceiling excluded at the customer’s request
- Front Bedroom
- Walls ≈38.4 m², two coats · no trim
And what it asks you
- Wall height was not provided — 2.4 m assumed.
- Hallway width was not given, so the wall area is an estimate.
- Bedroom dimensions were not given at all.
Built around how painting actually gets priced
Room-by-room scope
Walls, ceilings, skirting, architraves, frames, doors and cabinetry — each with its own quantity, coats, finish and preparation level.
Preparation that gets counted
Filling, crack repair, sanding, caulking, stain blocking and masking add hours to the estimate instead of quietly eating your day.
Markup and margin, correctly
A 40% markup and a 40% margin are different numbers. The engine knows which one you price on, and shows you the other.
Materials you can actually buy
Coverage rates and waste turn area into litres, then into the cheapest combination of tin sizes at your prices.
Your rates, not ours
Production rates, coverage, pack prices, minimum charge and rounding are all yours to set. Nothing is hard-coded to one manufacturer.

Who it is for
It is not built for large construction firms or complex tendering. It is built for the person who walks the job, prices it, and paints it.

Questions
- Does the AI decide my prices?
- No. The AI reads your walkthrough and proposes scope — rooms, surfaces, coats, preparation and estimated quantities. Every dollar comes from your own pricing rules, calculated by the app. The model is never asked for a price and is instructed never to give one.
- What if it gets a measurement wrong?
- Anything it was not told is flagged as inferred or assumed, and listed under "Things to confirm" with the reasoning shown. You edit any number before sending. It will not present a guess as a measurement.
- Do I have to use the AI at all?
- No. You can add rooms and surfaces by hand and the estimating engine works exactly the same. The AI is a faster way to get a first draft, not a requirement.
- Can I use feet and gallons?
- Yes. Choose metric or imperial per account. Production rates and coverage rates convert between systems, so a rate entered in m²/hour still works on a job measured in ft².
- Does it work on my phone?
- That is the point. The whole walkthrough — notes, photos, voice note, review and quote — is built for one hand while you are standing in someone’s living room.
- What happens to photos and recordings?
- They are stored privately against your account and are only ever accessible to your organisation through short-lived signed links. Photos are used to judge surface condition and preparation, never to measure from.
- Can I change my rates later?
- Any time. Each estimate keeps a snapshot of the rules it was priced with, so updating your rates never silently reprices a quote already sent to a customer.
